Proton VPN Review - Application Software Download Free Mac
Application Software Download Free Mac
Proton VPN offers a solid collection of features and is easy to use across multiple devices. It has hundreds of secure servers all over the world, and its apps work well on all major operating systems. Its no-logs policy makes it one of the more privacy-friendly options on the market, and it uses ciphers with Perfect Forward Secrecy that prevent your encrypted traffic from being captured and decrypted even if the key is compromised in the future. Proton VPN also lets you pick individual cities to connect to, which helps optimize performance by finding the server closest to you.
I like that it lists which streaming services it works with, including Netflix, Amazon Prime, BBC iPlayer, DAZN, NOW TV and fuboTV. The app also displays the server load, which is a good indicator of how many users are connected to a given server -- I found that servers with low load performed better than those with high load. Proton VPN doesn't offer live chat support, but it has a comprehensive help center that includes troubleshooting tips and setup tutorials.
The app has several tabs with advanced settings that let you customize the way it functions. The General Settings tab lets you set how the VPN starts, stops and reconnects to a server, and there are options for enabling or disabling kill switch and VPN Accelerator. The Connection Settings tab has a few useful controls for setting up the VPN, and there's an Advanced Settings tab where you can customize some more esoteric preferences like split tunneling, leak protection and network acceleration.
